Growing up, Jessica Szklut always had a love for helping and working with children; she was constantly involved with nannying, coaching, and volunteering. In addition to her love for children, she has a deep passion for sports. Growing up with competitive sports at the forefront, Jessica experienced some unfortunate injuries and rehabilitation to get back on her feet. These experiences allowed Jessica to realize her fascination with the human body and brain and truly started her journey into the therapy world. Combining her fascination for the human body and her
passion for working with children, she started an accelerated masters program for Occupational Therapy at Ithaca College. During her last fieldwork placement of her master’s degree, Jessica was introduced and be supervised by Shelley Dean, the owner of Crossway Pediatric Therapy. Shelley truly helped refine and jumpstart her vision of being a pediatric therapist specializing in neuro-rehabilitation. Jessica has been working at Crossway Pediatric Therapy for over 3 years and continues to love helping children, of all ages, as they learn to play, develop skills, defeat obstacles and grow into strong, resilient and independent individuals.
