David was born and raised in Gastonia, North Carolina. He graduated from Western Carolina University with his B.A. in English-Professional Writing. After receiving his bachelor’s degree he attended Western Carolina University’s Speech Therapy Master’s Program where he graduated in December of 2014. David gained critical skills in graduate school working with children with autism, specific language impairment, childhood apraxia of speech, bilingual Spanish speaking children with language disorders, and articulation and phonological disorders. He especially enjoys working with children with autism as he completed several projects during school for children in autism utilizing PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and social stories. David is also bilingual and fluent in Spanish. During his free time, David enjoys watching sports; fly fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
